Do’s & Don’ts of Nonprofit Fundraising

Here is one more week of do’s and don’t of fundraising. You know the drill; it’s time for the game. Which one is a do and which one is a don’t?

  • Follow through with your promises
  • Overwork yourself

That one pretty much answers itself. The do is “follow through with your promises” and the don’t is “don’t overwork yourself”. You learn from a young age not to break your promises with friends and family and it is the same with your donors. If you think about it, they are giving you their hard-earned money for your organization so if you make a promise, make sure to keep it. Don’t overwork yourself! It is great to be motivated and love your job but working too much and wear you down. Just remember, there are good years and bad years.
