The first step is to get all the facts and express your concern for the injured party. Lawsuit papers often do not arrive until a few months or years after an incident has occurred, and it is important that you have proper documentation to support your case. Completing an incident report and taking photos when an incident occurs are vital to your defense.
Report incidents to your insurance agent, even if you have not been served with suit papers. If you feel that the incident has potential to amount to a claim you should report it to your agent. If served with papers, it is in your best interest to provide your agent with a copy of them to keep on file and begin the claim process.
