Importance of Training Volunteers & Staff

Don’t you want staff that is knowledgeable about your organization’s mission, so you can reach goals together and strive to better your company? Risk management rarely involves staff training, however, there a few key topics that should be addressed. All staff that is part of the emergency response team should be up-to-date on policies and have proper skills for dealing with injured clients. It is important to have a thorough understanding of the physical and mental needs of the target population that you work with. Although it may seem like common sense, staff training should also emphasize staff-client relationships, and the prohibition of sexual relationships between employees and clients. If vehicles are used, no matter how little, driver training should be performed. Training often does not focus on the circumstances that involve employee termination by supervisors, nevertheless this is important to include.
